Add a Sicce® Pump
The HYDROS Control can seamlessly integrate with Sicce® pumps.
WARNING: It is essential to remember that integrating HYDROS with Sicce flow pumps has certain limitations. Sicce allows only a limited number of commands per hour to be sent to its cloud service. HYDROS only permits a maximum of six commands every five minutes to avoid exceeding the maximum command count within a short period. Therefore, this integration is suitable for flow pumps with less frequent speed changes in their schedule. It works well for return, skimmer, and constant-running pumps. However, it is not recommended for “Wave” pumps with motors that change speeds rapidly and frequently within an hour interval.
Here is what you’ll need to get started:
- HYDROS app 2.6.4 (274) AND firmware 323 or newer.
- A Sicce pump that is fully connected to the cloud using the Sicce ContrAll app.
- The “Sicce Key” can be obtained from the pump settings page in the Sicce® ContrAll app.
Step 1: Generate Sicce Key from the ContrAll App
- Open the Sicce ContrAll app and tap the pump you wish to connect to the HYDROS.
- IMPORTANT: Ensure the pump is turned ON. If the pump is OFF, tap the center button to toggle the pump ON.
- Tap on the settings icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- Generate and copy the “Sicce Key.”
Step 2: Create 3rd-Party Device
On the HYDROS app…
- From the STATUS screen on the app, tap on the three horizontal dots to the right of the “3RD PARTY DEVS” label and select “Add/Edit 3rd Party Device.”
- Type the name of the Output. We recommend you use “Sicce” and tap on “Create.”
- Family: Variable Pumps.
- Type: Sicce Pump.
Step 3: Configure the Sicce® Interface
- Sicce Key: Copy and paste the “Sicce Key” from the Sicce® ContrAll app. You can generate this key by going to the pump settings page in the Sicce® ContrAll app.
- Notification Level: This option allows you to tell HYDROS when to send a notification. You will receive notifications when the HYDROS loses connection to the Sicce® cloud.
Step 4: Upload the Changes
After configuring the input, tap the yellow bar at the bottom to upload your changes to the cloud and each HYDROS device.
Step 5: Create a Pump Output
- From the app’s STATUS screen, tap on the three horizontal dots to the right of the OUTPUT label and select “Add/Edit Output.”
- Type the name of the Output. We recommend you use “Sicce Pump” and tap “Create.”
Step 6: Configure the Pump Output
- Type: Select “Variable Pump.”
- Pump Model: Select Sicce Pump.
- Runs Constantly: This is an easy way to run the pump at a simple constant speed without creating a separate flow schedule.
- Constant Speed: Set the intensity at which you wish to run the pump.
- Speed Limit: This is the main control that sets your pump’s minimum and maximum speed, regardless of its pattern.
TIP: Think of the speed range control as a Governor. When you create a “Flow Schedule” that operates from 1% to 100% intensity, but the pump’s speed range is restricted between 25% and 75%, then 1% on the “Flow Schedule” corresponds to the pump operating at 25%. Similarly, 100% on the “Flow Schedule” means the pump physically runs at 75%. In other words, the “Flow Schedule” speed range is within the designated range.
- Depends On: This feature allows you to turn the output based on the status of another output. To enable this, select it from the list of available outputs.
- Dependency Mode: You can turn the output ON or OFF based on the other output.
- OFF if OFF: Will turn the current output OFF if the output it depends on is OFF.
- OFF if ON: Will turn the current output OFF when the output it depends on is ON.
- ON if OFF: Will turn the current output ON when the output it depends on is OFF.
- ON if ON: Will turn the current output ON when the output it depends on is ON.
- Is Invisible: If you choose to hide the input from the status screen, it will only become visible on pages that have “Show Invisible” selected.
Step 7: Upload the Changes
- Once you have configured your flow pump, tap on the yellow bar at the bottom of the screen to upload the changes to the cloud and individual HYDROS devices.
Step 8: Create a Flow Schedule
If you did not enable “Run Constantly” in step 6, you must create a “Flow Schedule” for the pump to run. Please refer to the “Add Flow Pump Schedule” page for instructions.
Rename Output & Change Icon
- From the STATUS screen, tap on the Output you wish to modify.
- On the popup, tap on the “Gear” icon on the bottom right.
- From the Output setup page, tap on the “Pencil” icon on the top left.
- Type in the new name you wish
- If you wish to change the default icon, tap “Change Icon.”
