Emergency Mode Access (No Internet nor Mobile Data)
If an unforeseen circumstance causes a complete internet outage, the HYDROS App grants you OVERRIDE access to your HYDROS controllers, even if you cannot authenticate your credentials. This feature lets you manually turn outlets on and off using the native iOS or Android app, even without internet access (ISP nor Mobile Data).
WARNING: This feature is unavailable through the web application version due to security limitations imposed by operating systems (Windows and Mac OS).
Here are the steps you need to PREEMTIVELY take (with internet access) to access HYDROS in emergency mode LATER:
Step 1: Install the Latest Firmware and App
To access Emergency Mode, you must run the latest firmware and application versions. Please monitor updates and follow the instructions to update your controller’s firmware.
Step 2: Enable Emergency Mode
Step 3: Upload Changes
Tap the yellow bar at the bottom of the screen to upload your changes.
Access HYDROS via Emergency Mode
The app cannot authenticate your credentials if you do not have an internet connection (ISP nor Mobile Data). For this reason, when you open the HYDROS app, you will be immediately taken back to the login page.
TIP: To effectively test emergency access, please remember to disable both WiFi and cellular data. This will help you recreate a complete internet connection outage for your HYDROS and mobile phone devices.
Step 1: You Must Be In the Same Room
This access is achieved via BT, so you must be within a few feet of the device (collective master) to connect.
Step 2: Open the HYDROS App
- In the login screen, locate the “Enter Emergency Mode” link towards the end of the page and tap on it. Your mobile device will use BT to scan the surrounding area for any “Emergency Mode” device enabled and list them in the HYDROS app.
WARNING: If you haven’t enabled “Emergency Mode” on your device or collective, it will NOT appear on the list.
- Tap on the device or the collective name you wish to access.
- Enter your Emergency Mode Password (the one you set in Step 2 above) to unlock OVERRIDE access.
TIP: Override mode allows you to manually turn outputs ON and OFF. It does not allow you to make permanent changes to your configuration.
Exit HYDROS via Emergency Mode
Once your internet connection is reestablished, you can exit Emergency Mode by:
- From the STATUS screen, tap on the three horizontal dots in the upper RIGHT-hand corner and select “Exit Emergency Mode.” You can also close and reopen the app.
- Enter your login credentials.
