HYDROS Online Manual HYDROS Control Add “Sampled” pH Input

Add “Sampled” pH Input

Do you know what “Sampled pH” means? With HYDROS, you can now test pH more safely and accurately. By placing the pH probe in the HYDROS iV, the pH probe is located in a fully isolated vessel, ensuring stray voltage from equipment like pumps or heaters won’t compromise the readings.

TIP: When configuring your iV Tester Output, this input is automatically generated and added to your status screen. If you need to recreate it manually, you can just follow the instructions included below.

Before Creating the Sampled Salinity Input…

  1. Ensure you have a fully configured iV Output.
  2. Select a Salinity Input at the bottom of the iV Output configuration page

Now, we can manually create the input.

Step 1: Create the Sampled pH Input

  1. From the STATUS screen, tap the three horizontal dots to the right of the INPUTS label.
  2. Select “Add/Edit Input”
  3. Tap on the + symbol in the bottom-right corner
  4. Enter the name you wish to assign to your input and tap “Create.”

Step 2: Configure the Sampled pH Input

  1. Type: iV Test
  2. iV Tester: Select your iV Output
  3. Test: Sampled pH
  4. Safe Range: With this feature, choose the minimum and maximum values. You will receive a notification if a reading falls outside of this range.
  5. Graph Value Limits: You can determine the range of values shown on the Graphs view by setting both a maximum and minimum value.
  6. Stale Sample Notification: The Control can notify you if the last reading is too old. If the HYDROS has not received a new reading within the time selected, it will notify you if you have enabled the notifications below.
If the reading becomes stale/old, any output or dosing using this input will show a red warning and revert to the “Fallback” state.
We recommend you set this to 1.5 times your testing frequency. i.e., If your iV Testing Output is on a 4-hour testing schedule, we recommend you set this value to 06:00:00.
  7. Notification Level: This option allows you to specify what notification level you would like to receive.  You will receive notifications when
    • The sensor becomes WET
    • Control has lost connection to the sensor

Step 3: Upload the changes

  1. Once you upload the changes, the status screen automatically displays a new “Sampled pH” input.

Calibrate/Offset Reading

If you notice an inaccurate Sampled pH reading, please go ahead and go to the pH Probe Input setup page and recalibrate or apply an offset.
