Collective Errors

We will learn about the different Collective Errors, what they mean, and what steps to solve them.

Collective OK

This is the normal status of a HYDROS Collective.  When the Collective is OK, everything is good, and all HYDROS devices can communicate with each other and the cloud.

Actions to Take:

NONE

Collective Mismatch

This is depicted by an orange bar at the top of the STATUS screen.  This means that one of the devices in the collective has a different configuration file than the one in the cloud or the rest of the collective members.

CAUSE:

  • Collective member is disconnected while a change in the configuration was uploaded.
  • Collective member temporarily lost internet connection and was unable to receive the changes uploaded.

ACTION TO TAKE:

  • Make another small change and upload again.  Once the update goes through to all devices, the Collective will be OK.

Collective Broken

This is depicted by a RED bar at the top of the STATUS screen.  This means that one or multiple devices in your collective are unreachable.  It means that the connection between the multiple devices has been severed, and the devices cannot see each other.

CAUSE:

  • A Collective member has been powered down.
  • A Collective member has been disconnected from the command bus port and physically removed from the collective.
  • You connected a Collective Member to the command bus while the collective was powered, causing the command bus to short out.
  • You created a collective without a Terminator.
  • One of your command bus cables was damaged and no longer worked.

ACTIONS TO TAKE:

  • Ensure that all collective members are powered.
  • Ensure that all collective members are connected via the command bus port.
  • Power down your entire collective and:
    • Manually disconnect and reconnect the command bus ports
    • Manually disconnect and reconnect the Terminator
    • Replace any damaged command bus cables
