Device Properties

The Device Properties offers an in-depth view of the status of each of your HYDROS devices.

To access the Device Properties from the Status screen, tap the three horizontal dots icon in the upper right-hand corner.

At the top of the screen, you will see a list of every single HYDROS device you are connected to, including:

  • WiFi connection status for the individual device
    • GREEN – The device is fully connected to your WiFi and HYDROS Cloud
    • YELLOW – The device is connected to your WiFi but cannot connect to the HYDROS Cloud.
    • ORANGE – The device is connected to your WiFi but has not received a local IP address from the router.
    • RED – The device cannot connect to your WiFi
  • Name of the HYDROS device
  • Collective Master Icon – In a collective setting, the symbol indicates the device that is currently assuming the WiFi Master responsibilities and controlling all WiFi power strips
  • The ability to remotely power cycle the device
  • The firmware version of the HYDROS device is currently running
  • The serial number of your HYDROS device (this is also the MAC address)
  • The current time of the day reported by the HYDROS device
  • The date and time the device last restarted
  • SD Card Status – Displays the health of the SD card inside the HYDROS controller.
  • Hardware Variant – When applicable, it displays the version of the PCB board inside the device.

In addition to the specs and status of each of the HYDROS devices you are connected to, the screen also offers you the following options:

  • Copy Properties – This allows you to copy the name, version, and serial number of your device(s) to the clipboard, which you can then paste into an email.
  • Rename Device / Collective – This allows you to change the name of the HYDROS device or Collective.
  • Delete Device / Collective: It allows you to delete a device from your account.
WARNING: To delete a collective, you must first delete all devices until you have one device left.
  • Save Config—This option lets you download a copy of the configuration JSON file to your local computer. The same file is automatically saved on your cloud account whenever you upload a change.
  • Clear Local Cache – This feature allows you to clear all HYDROS configurations from the app and reload a new, fresh configuration from the cloud.  This is handy if you have changed different devices and do not reflect on the current device.
  • Review Archive Versions – This allows you to access all your cloud configuration backups.  It is an easy way to restore from a previous configuration if needed.
  • Discard Changes – This feature allows you to clear any changes you have made but have NOT uploaded. For example, if you make a change and decide it is not what you want, click this button to clear it and remove the “Upload Now” yellow bar.
  • Load Config: It allows you to take a local configuration JSON file from your computer and upload it to your HYDROS device.
  • Update Firmware – This button will take you to the firmware update screen, where you can update to a new firmware or revert to a previous one.
  • Reboot Collective / Device – This button allows you to power cycle every device on your collective, or if you have only an individual device, power cycle it.  This option only works if you have firmware 188 or newer installed.
