HYDROS Online Manual HYDROS Control Add Alkalinity (iV Tester) Input

Add Alkalinity (iV Tester) Input

Adding an Alkalinity Input after configuring the iV Test Output is very simple.

TIP: When configuring your iV Tester Output, this input is automatically generated and added to your status screen. If you need to recreate it manually, follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Configure the iV Output

  1. Before adding the Alkalinity Input, you must install and configure an iV Tester Output.

Step 2: Create the Alkalinity Input

  1. From the STATUS screen, tap the three horizontal dots to the right of the INPUTS label.
  2. Select “Add New Input”
  3. Tap on the + symbol in the bottom-right corner
  4. Enter the name you wish to assign to your input and tap “Create.”

Step 3: Configure the Input

  • Type: Select iV Tester.
  • iV Tester: Select your iV Tester output.
  • Test: Select Alkalinity.
  • Safe Range: This option allows you to set a safe range’s lowest and highest points. If the reading falls outside the range, HYDROS will notify you if you have enabled the notifications below.
  • Graph Value Limits: You can set the maximum and minimum values under the Graphs view.
  • Offset: If the Alkalinity reading is slightly off, you can use this option to make minor corrections. Keep in mind that the maximum offset allowed is ±2.0. If the discrepancy exceeds this range, it’s best to recalibrate the iV Output pumps and pH probe.
  • Stale Sample Notification: The Control can notify you if the last reading is too old. If the HYDROS has not received a new reading within the time selected, it will notify you if you have enabled the notifications below.
TIP: We recommend you set this to 1.5 times your Alkatronic testing frequency. i.e., If your iV Testing Output is on a 4-hour testing schedule, we recommend you set this value to 06:00:00
  • Notification Level: This option allows you to specify what notification level you would like to receive.  You will receive notifications when
    • The sensor becomes WET
    • Control has lost connection to the sensor
  • Alert When Dry: This option allows you to reverse the status for which you will receive a notification.  The Control will notify you if the sensor is dry instead of wet.
  • Is Invisible: If you choose to hide the input from the status screen, it will only become visible on pages that have “Show Invisible” selected.

Step 4: Upload Changes

Once you have configured your INPUT, tap on the yellow bar at the bottom of the screen to upload your changes to the cloud and the individual HYDROS devices.

WARNING: UNKNOWN Status

Before running your first manual or scheduled test, the Alkalinity input will display an “Unknown” status.

Incorrect Reading

If you notice a discrepancy in the reading, you can use the “Offset” feature above to make small adjustments. Keep in mind that the maximum offset allowed is ±2.0. If the discrepancy exceeds this range, it’s best to recalibrate the dosing pumps and pH probe.
