Add Sensor

Adding an input is very simple.

  1. From the STATUS screen tap on the three horizontal dots to the right of the INPUTS label
  2. Select “Add New Input”
  3. Enter the name you wish to assign to your input and tap on “Create”
  4. Select the Type of Input you are connecting
  5. Configure according to your input type

Sense Port

This is one of the most common types of inputs.  It includes:

  • Temperature Probe
  • Water Level
  • Skimmer Water Level
  • Flow Rate Sensor
  • Rope Leak Detector
  • Point Leak Detector
  • Diagnostic

Temperature Probe

  • Sense Port: This option specifies the physical location of the probe itself.  To what sense port did you connect the temperature probe?
  • Safe Range Low: This option allows you to select the lowest point before the Control notifies you that the temperature is too low.
TIP: Set this to a temperature that is lower than your heater’s ON temperature.  An example is if you keep your tank temperature between 78 and 79 degrees, set this to 77.5.  If the tank temperature gets to 77.5 or below, you will get a notification.
  • Safe Range High: This option allows you to select the highest point before the Control notifies you that the temperature is too high.
TIP: Set this to a temperature that is higher than your heater’s OFF temperature.  An example is if you keep your tank temperature between 78 and 79 degrees, set this to 82 degrees.  If the tank temperature gets to 82 degrees or above, you will get a notification.
  • Notification Level: This option allows you to specify what level of notification you would like to receive.  You will receive notifications when
    • Temperature is below Safe Range Low
    • Temperature is above Safe Rage High
    • Control has lost connection to the sensor

Water Level/Skimmer Water Level

  • Sense Port: This option specifies the physical location of the sensor itself.  To what sense port did you connect the sensor?

Flow Rate Sensor

  • Sense Port: This option specifies the physical location of the sensor itself.  To what sense port did you connect the sensor?
  • Flow Rate Model: Allows you to specify the model of the sensor connected to the unit.
WARNING: You must manually select the model.  Control WILL NOT automatically detect the type of sensor being used.

Rope/Single Point Leak Detector

  • Sense Port: This option specifies the physical location of the sensor itself.  To what sense port did you connect the sensor?
  • Notification Level: This option allows you to specify what level of notification you would like to receive.  You will receive notifications when
    • Leak detector becomes wet

Diagnostics

This option allows you to view the actual voltage sent by the sensor.  It is handy when you are trying to troubleshoot a sensor.  It allows you to check if the sensor is actually working.

  • Sense Port: This option specifies the physical location of the sensor itself.  To what sense port did you connect the sensor?
