HYDROS Online Manual HYDROS Control Understanding the LEDs

Understanding the LEDs

The HYDROS controllers are equipped with color-altering LEDs, which enhance their aesthetic appeal while also serving functional purposes. These lights facilitate users in discerning modes, alerts, overall statuses, and connectivity conditions.

Controllers with Dedicated Lights

These controllers are equipped with designated LEDs for Status, Mode, WiFi, and Collective. The models include XP8, Launch, Minnow, Sole, X10, Maven, and Kraken.

Controllers without Dedicated LEDs

These controllers have lights on the outer edge. These include X4, X2, X3, XS, XD, and WaveEngine V1/V2/LE.

What Do the LEDs Mean?

Collective

This LED will convey the status of the Collective as a whole.

TIP: This only applies to devices that are part of a collective.
White This is the collective Master. There are no errors to report.
Green This is a collective secondary device. There are no errors to report.
Pink/
Purple
This is a collective Master, AND there is an error with the collective. One or multiple collective devices are not responding.

  • Try rebooting the device or collective.
  • Check for non-working and non-powered devices.
  • Check command bus cable connections.
Red This is a collective “Secondary,” and there is an error with the collective. One or multiple collective devices are not responding.

  • Try rebooting the device or collective.
  • Check for non-working and non-powered devices.
  • Check command bus cable connections.
Yellow Firmware mismatch. One or multiple devices are running a firmware version different from the rest.

  • Check the firmware version for each device and reinstall if needed.
Amber/
Orange

Configuration mismatch. One or multiple devices are running a configuration version different from the rest.

  • Try uploading again.
  • Check each device’s WiFi status to see one or more devices have a Yellow, Amber/Orange, or Red WiFi LED.

WiFi:

This LED will conveys the current state of the device’s connection to WiFi and the HYDROS Cloud.

Green Everything is OK.

  • Unless you expressly set the “Cloud Notification Timeout” to “None” in the Options Screen, it also indicates the HYDROS device has full connectivity to WiFi and can communicate with the HYDROS Cloud.
Yellow The device is connected to WiFi but cannot communicate with the HYDROS Cloud.

  • Is your internet down?
  • Reboot your router and access point (pods)
  • Try registering the product again.
Amber/
Orange
The device is connected to WiFi, but the router must still assign an IP address.

  • Restart the router and access point (pods)
Red The device is unable to connect to WiFi and the internet.

  • Restart the router and access point (pods)
  • The WiFi password needs to be corrected.
  • Check line-of-sight (WiFi cannot travel through water).
Pink/
Purple
The device DOES NOT have a configured WiFi SSID and password. It is waiting for the user to configure one.

Status

Controllers with Dedicated LEDs: This LED shows the command bus status.

Green Everything is OK.
Red

XP8/Launch
X10/Sole
Maven/Kraken

The device is only receiving power from the command bus. It is NOT receiving power from the power supply brick connected to the device’s white “Power” port.

  • Ensure the power supply brick is powered.
  • Ensure the wall outlet is working correctly.
  • Ensure the power cable is securely connected to the power supply brick.
  • If powering from the Kraken, please ensure the force/drive port is enabled and turned ON.

Controllers without Dedicated LEDs: These LEDs show if an “Audible” alarm is triggered.

Red

X4/X2
X3/XS/XD
WaveEngine
(V1/V2/LE)

There is an active Alarm.

  • Check the HYDROS app for more information and to discover which output or input is triggering the alarm.

Mode

These LEDs change color based on the active Mode. The Mode itself assigns the color. The default NORMAL Mode color is Blue

TIP: On controllers that lack a designated “Status” LED, these serve a dual purpose. These LEDs emit a red flash if an “Audible” alarm is activated.

All LEDs OFF

There are two circumstances in which ALL controller LEDs would be off.

  1. If the controller is not receiving power, all LEDs will be off.
  2. The LEDs will remain inactive during specified intervals throughout the day. If the current time of day falls outside the designated “LED On/OFF Time” defined in the Options Screen, the LEDs will be deactivated.
TIP: The LEDs should be ON but aren’t. Check the “Time Zone” setting in the Options Screen.
