Add Light (0-10V)
Here is what you’ll need to get started:
Step 1: Connect the Light to the HYDROS Control
- Connect the GX12 end of the HYDROS 0-10V Quad Cable and connect it to the HYDROS Control 0-10V OUT port
- Connect one of the 3.5mm ends of the HYDROS 0-10V Quad Cable to the 0-10 IN port on your light fixture. Please remember the color of the 3.5mm jack, as you will need that in one of the steps below.
Step 2: Create the Variable Light Output
- From the STATUS screen on your HYDROS app, top on the three horizontal dots to the right of the OUTPUTS label and select “Add New Output.”
- Tap on the + symbol at the bottom right of the page
- Type in the name of your new output and then tap “Create.”
Step 2: Configure your Variable Light
- Type: Select “Variable Light”
- Min Level: This is the lowest intensity the HYDROS will run your light fixture at.
- Max Level: This is the maximum intensity the HYDOS will run your light fixture.
- Overheat Input: This lets you turn OFF the lights if your tank temperature gets too hot.
- Overheat Temperature: You select the temperature where you want the controller to shut off the lights.
TIP: To see a list of all inputs available on MULTIPLE devices, you must first
create a Collective. Otherwise, only inputs on the same device will show.
- Output Device: Select the location of the light. In this case, select the 0-10V channel based on the color of the 3.5mm jack connected to your light fixture.
TIP: The 0-10v cable has four different connectors.
- BLACK = Direct Output 1
- BROWN = Direct Output 2
- RED = Direct Output 3
- ORANGE = Direct Output 4
For the DIYers, the 3.5mm Mono jack is wired the following:
- Tip = 0-10V output (+)
- Ring = unused
- Sleeve = Ground (-)
Step 3: Save
- Upload your changes to the cloud
Step 4: Create a Light Schedule
Now that you have created a Light Output, create a Light Schedule to run the light the way you want it!
