HYDROS Online Manual IceCap Dual Pump Controller “Pump Locked, Stuck in Closed Loop” Error

“Pump Locked, Stuck in Closed Loop” Error

Sometimes, after setup, you might notice that one of the pumps displays the error “Pump Locked, Stuck in Closed Loop.”  This could be caused by any of the following issues:

A: No Pump Is Attached

If the controller does not detect a pump, it will display the error. This is normal!  To stop the error from displaying, do the following:

  1. Open the HYDROS app.
  2. Connect to your IC2C controller.
  3. Tap on the three horizontal bars on the upper left-hand corner and then select “Pumps.
  4. Tap on the Pump profile that has no physical pump attached to it.
  5. Change the Pump Type to “None.”
  6. Save your changes

Now go back to the STATUS screen and the Pump error will no longer show up.  In the future, if you attach a physical pump to the terminal, you will need to go back to the pump’s configuration page and change the pump type to match the pump model you are connecting.

B: Incorrect Pump Type Selected

If you have connected a physical pump to one of the controller’s terminals but you are still getting the same error, it may be the controller expecting a different pump.  If your WiFi Controller is expecting an IceCap Gyre 2000 but you are connecting an IceCap Gyre 4000, the controller will error out.  To fix this problem, simply:

  1. Open the HYDROS app.
  2. Connect to your IC2C controller.
  3. Tap on the three horizontal bars on the upper left-hand corner and then select “Pumps.
  4. Tap on the Pump that is having the connection issue.
  5. Change the Pump Type to match the model of the pump you are physically connecting to the terminal
  6. Save your changes

C: Pump Connector Pins Not Aligned

Sometimes, you get the error even if you have a physical pump connected to the terminal AND the pump type matches the physical pump.  In this case, the problem may be the connection between the pump cable and the short 6″ connector attached to the controller.

Disconnect the two and reconnect them making sure that the pins line up correctly AND none of the pins are bent out of place.
