HYDROS Online Manual IceCap Dual Pump Controller Activate Feeding Mode from HYDROS Control

Activate Feeding Mode from HYDROS Control

Sometimes, one may want to allow the IceCap Dual Pump Controller (ICDPC) to control the flow pumps in our tank, but at the same time, have your HYDROS Controller activate the feed mode on all connected devices.

It brings the best of both worlds into one. Allow the ICDPC to do what it does best while triggering modes such as Feeding or Water Change with a SINGLE button click.

What you will need to get started

  • HYDROS Control X4, HYDROS WaveEngine, or HYDROS WaveEngine LE controller with an available 0-10V port (Ethernet) and the latest firmware installed
  • HYDROS 0-10V Quad Cable

Step 1: Connecting the HYDROS 0-10V Quad Cable

  • Connect the single end of the HYDROS 0-10V Quad Cable (GX12) to the HYDROS Control 0-10V OUT port.
  • Connect one of the four 3.5mm ends of the HYDROS 0-10V Quad Cable to the side of the IceCap Controller. Be sure to remember the color of the cable end.
TIP: The 0-10v cable has four different connectors.

  • BLACK = Direct Output 1
  • BROWN = Direct Output 2
  • RED = Direct Output 3
  • ORANGE = Direct Output 4

Step 2: Configure your HYDROS Control

  • Open your Control STATUS page, create a new OUTPUT, and call it Feed.
  • Output Type: Set as “Constant”
  • Default to Off: Leave as disabled.
  • Output Device: Select the 0-10V channel that matches the color of the 3.5mm jack on the HYDROS Quad Cable.
  • OFF Voltage: Set to 0V.
  • ON Voltage: Set to 5V
TIP: This value does not need to be 5V. It can be any value you desire. Ensure you use the same value when you get to Step 4 below.
  • If Input Unavailable: Leave this turned Off.
  • Active Modes: Select “Feeding” mode ONLY.
  • Depends On: Leave Unused.

Step 3: Save your configuration

  • Tap the yellow bottom band to upload your changes to the cloud and your HYDROS Control.

Step 4: Configure the ICDPC

  • Connect to your IceCap Controller and go into your STATUS Screen
  • From the main menu, select the OPTIONS screen.
  • Mode Control Input: Set this to “0-10V Channel 1.”
WARNING: You must use “0-10V Channel 1” regardless of the channel you assigned in Step 2
  • Return to the STATUS screen, and from the main menu, select MODES and tap on FEEDING.
  • Input Voltage: Set it to the same value as “ON Voltage” in Step 2 above. In this case, set it to 5V.
TIP: Select an LED COLOR in the mode configuration screen, and the ICDPC will display it while the Feeding Mode is active!

Step 4: Save your configuration

  • Tap the yellow bottom band to upload your changes to the cloud and the ICDPC.

Now you can activate your Feeding Mode on your HYDROS Control. First, it will send a 5-volt signal to the ICDPC. Then, after matching the voltage to the Feeding Mode, the ICDPC will activate it.
