Connect to Your WiFi Network (Bluetooth)

WARNING: The instructions below only apply IF your controller’s STATUS LED light is breathing PINK. If the STATUS LED light is breathing BLUE, then proceed to “Connecting to Your WiFi Network (Legacy) [1]” instructions.

When setting up your IceCap Dual Pump Controller (ICDPC), use the included power adapter to ensure the right amount of power is going to the unit and prevent performance issues.

What you will need to get started

WARNING: If using an Android device, you MUST enable “Locations.” Otherwise, the app cannot access Bluetooth and connect to your new device.

Step 1: Start the HYDROS App

Step 2: Power up the ICDPC

After going through a sequence of colors, the ICDPC top left LEDs should start breathing PINK. If the WaveEngine starts to breathe BLUE, then proceed to “Connecting to Your WiFi Network (Legacy) [1]” instructions.

Step 3: Connect directly to the ICDPC

Step 4: Connect the ICDPC to your WiFi network

The ICDPC will scan your surrounding area and provide you with a list of available WiFi networks.

Your ICDPC is connected to your home WiFi and your cloud account.

If your controller reboots and the STATUS LED light starts breathing RED, the controller could not connect to your WiFi using the credentials you entered. It could be the result of:

To fix the problem:

Appendix B: Controller Restarted STATUS LED Breathing Yellow

Sometimes, the setup may not be completed correctly. Sometimes, the controller is successfully connected to your WiFi network, BUT it fails to register with the cloud. If this happens, do the following:

  1. Completely close (kill) the HYDROS app.
  2. Restart the controller by unplugging the power supply cable from the controller (NOT the power supply from the wall outlet) and wait for the STATUS LED light to breathe YELLOW.
  3. Ensure your phone is connected to your home WiFi and open the HYDROS app.
  4. Tap on the three horizontal bars in the upper left-hand corner to enter the main menu.
  5. To the right of the top icons, tap on the “Plus” symbol.
  6. On the “Configure HYDROS Device” page, tap on the “Refresh” button several times, and select your controller.
  7. Reselect your WiFi name.
  8. On the WiFi configurations, DO NOT fill in any of the fields. Instead, scroll down and tap on “SKIP.”
  9. Tap on Continue on the next page, and the controller should start registering on the cloud.

If the connection is successful, the controller will restart, and the STATUS LED light will turn to GREEN.
