A schedule is a combination of flow pattern and the Time of day in which the flow pattern should run — Schedules link to one or multiple pumps, making it easier to change flow patterns. An example of a schedule would be the Sine Wave flow from 8 am to 10 pm.
Step 1: Create a New Schedule
- From the main menu, tap on “SCHEDULES.”
- Tap the + symbol at the bottom right and enter your Presets name.
- Tap Create
Step 2: Configure the Schedule
- Type: Flow Pattern
- Pattern: Select the type of flow pattern you want this Schedule to trigger. For an overview of all available flow patterns, click here [1].
- Speed Range (Four Square, Gyre Mode, Nutrient Export, Random, Sine Wave, Square Wave, & Triangle Wave): This field controls the Max and Min speed at which the pump will run. This speed depends on the master speed specified on the individual pump output.
WARNING: If the pump output is set to run at a maximum of 75% and a minimum of 25%, then a flow speed of 100% means the pump will run at 75%, and flow intensity of 1% means the pump runs at 25%. If you set the speed to 0, the pump completely stops. - Speed Range (Constant Speed, LPS Reef, Ocean Swell, & SPS Reef): This field controls the pump’s intensity. This speed depends on the master speed specified on the individual pump output. For example, if the pump output is set to run at a maximum of 75%, then a flow intensity of 100% means the pump will run at 75%.
- Cycle Duration (Four Square, Gyre Mode, Sine Wave, Square Wave, & Triangle Wave): The sum of the Time a pump ramps up and the Time it takes to slow down. An example of a 1-minute cycle duration is 30 seconds to ramp up and 30 seconds to slow down.
- Pulse Frequency (Nutrient Export): This flow type alternates between quick pulses and a slower, more powerful flow. This field sets the frequency of the short pulses, which you can use to tune the pattern to your tank.
- Allow Reserve (Constant Speed, Gyre, Sine Wave, Square Wave, and Triangle Wave): This allows you to set the direction of the pump when it is running in a constant pattern.
- Speed Range (Four Square, Gyre Mode, Nutrient Export, Random, Sine Wave, Square Wave, & Triangle Wave): This field controls the Max and Min speed at which the pump will run. This speed depends on the master speed specified on the individual pump output.
- Pump Count: Slide left to right to select the number of pumps you want to attach to this Schedule.
TIP: The Pump Count is not a dropdown field. It is a slider. To change the number of pumps, place your finger on the blue number and slide left or right to decrease or increase pumps. - Pump X: Select the output pumps you want to run on this Schedule.
WARNING: You MUST select a pump. If you leave this field blank, then your pumps will not run. ONLY pumps assigned to a schedule will automatically run.- Position X – This option allows you to set the pump’s position within this particular schedule.
- Same End (Sync): All pumps with the position will do the same
- Opposite End (Antisync): All pumps with this position will do the opposite as pumps in the “Same End” position.
- Front: If the flow pattern has this option, all pumps with this position will do the same.
- Back: If the flow pattern has this option, all pumps in this position will do the opposite of the “Front” position.
- Position X – This option allows you to set the pump’s position within this particular schedule.
- Active in Modes: This allows you to select which modes this output will be operational and which modes the ouTime should turn OFF.
- Schedule: You can create a simple or complex schedule to run the output.
- Start Time: This is when the controller activates the flow schedule.
- End Time: This is when the controller stops the flow schedule.
TIP: If you want the flow schedule to span the entire 24 hours, then set both Start/End Times to 00:00:00 - Run Every N Days: This feature lets you start the flow schedule every X days.
TIP: If you want the schedule to run daily, leave this set to One. Two means every other day. Three means every three days. Ten means every ten days. As soon as you slide to select a number, the app will show you the STARTING date of the interval. - Run on Days of Week: This feature allows you to select which specific days of the week the flow schedule should run.
TIP: A Blue circle means the day IS selected.
- Depends On: This feature allows you to turn the Schedule based on the status of another output. To enable this, select it from the list of available outputs.
- Dependency Mode: This allows you to turn the Schedule ON or OFF based on the other output.
- OFF if OFF: Will turn the Schedule OFF if the output it depends on is OFF
- OFF if ON: Will turn the Schedule OFF when the output it depends on is ON
- ON if OFF: Will turn the Schedule ON when the output it depends on is OFF
- ON if ON: Will turn the Schedule ON when the output it depends on is ON
- Dependency Mode: This allows you to turn the Schedule ON or OFF based on the other output.
Step 3: Save your changes
- After configuring the output, tap the yellow bar at the bottom to upload your changes to the cloud and each HYDROS device.
