Sharing HYDROS Devices/Collective Access

Sharing access with another HYDROS account is easy. This feature is particularly useful for “Service Accounts,” who can manage your system and receive notifications from your HYDROS.

You can share access to individual HYDROS devices or entire collectives. When you share access, you can select between:

To share access:

To accept a share:

Once you accept the share, the new HYDROS device or collective will be listed along with your own devices. To access the shared device, tap on it the same way you access your device.

Nickname:

As a guest user, you can give the device/collective a “nickname” to make organizing your device list effortless.

The “nickname” is visible only to the guest user. It is not available or displayed to the device owner.

Notifications (Owner/Guest)

The HYDROS app allows the owner and guest to define each notification-level trigger for each device or collectively. For example, an owner can define “Yellow” as emails only, while a guest can define “Yellow” as push notifications for the same device or collective. For example, as a guest, you could define “Yellow” as email + Push, but the owner could send no notifications. This example would be handy for “Service Accounts” that want to receive messages without bothering the owner.

To Define “Guest” Notification Levels:

To change the notification level for an input/output, go to the output itself and select the desired notification level. As we specified previously, changing this level does override the owner’s notification level. As a guest, your notifications’ “definition” is separate from the owner’s, but the input/output notification “choice” is the same.

WARNING: Local (audible) alarms are NOT available on “guest” notification options.

To Define “Owner” Notification Levels:

Pages

A guest can create “Pages” separate from the owner’s layout. As a guest, when you first access the shared device, it will have no defined pages.

Terminating a Share

Both the owner and the guest can terminate a share.

Transferring Ownership

Current Owner:

You can transfer the ownership of HYDROS devices. To do, follow the simple steps:

  1. Tap on Transfer Ownership at the bottom of the “Manage Sharing” page.
  2. Select the individual device or Collective you are transferring to a new owner.
  3. Enter the email address of the new owner.
WARNING: This process is permanent and cannot be undone. The new owner will need to re-register [1] the devices via Bluetooth before accessing and configuring HYDROS.
  4. Tap on Confirm to transfer the ownership.

New Owner:

As the new owner, here are the steps you must take to successfully take ownership of the collective (or individual device) and transfer the data.

  1. Log in to your HYDROS app
  2. On the left menu, you will see the new collective or device listed. It will be grayed out. Tap it, then tap the green checkmark to accept the transfer.
  3. Currently, the collective or device appears in blue. Attempting to access it now will be unsuccessful. To connect to the collective, you need to re-register each device under your account. Follow the instructions provided here [2] to complete this process.
  4. After re-registering the devices, you will be able to connect to your collective or individual device and view the configuration. Before uploading any changes, verify that all devices in the collective, along with your inputs and outputs, are visible. Once you are sure the configuration data is correct, you can proceed to upload the changes.
