Create a Mode

A “Mode” is a collection of active outputs.  When an output is part of a mode, it will run as designed.  If the output is not part of a mode, then when the said mode is active, the output will not run at all.    An easy example is the Return Pump should NOT be part of the Water Change Mode.  When activating Water Change Mode, the return pump will automatically turn OFF and all other outputs that are NOT part of the Water Change Mode.  

The Control ships with three pre-configured modes:

• Normal – The default mode of the controller that runs 24/7.  When a different mode is active, the HYDROS control will revert to Normal mode once the Mode timer expires.  
• Water Change
• Feeding

You can create as many additional flow modes as you want, and you can delete built-in ones except for “Normal.”

You can also modify an existing Mode.

As specified above, an active Mode defines which outputs will run. If the active mode is Normal, then all outputs assigned to Normal mode will run.

A Mode can be activated using two different methods:

1. Manually through the app’s STATUS screen
2. Enabling the “MODE CONTROL INPUT” on the options screen and using a 0-10v connection from a 3^rd party controller

What you need to get started

• An Outlet assigned to a Mode

Step 1: Creating a Mode

• From the STATUS screen on your HYDROS app, top on the three horizontal dots to the right of the MODES label and select “Add New Mode.”
• Type in the name of your new Mode and then tap “Create”

Step 2: Configure the Mode

• INPUT VOLTAGE –  If you have “MODE CONTROL INPUT” enabled on the Options page, then set this number to the specific voltage sent from your 3^rd party controller to activate this mode.
• MODE TIMEOUT – This specifies how long the mode will be active.
  
  TIP: If left 00:00:00, the Mode will run forever or until it is deactivated.
• EXIT DELAY –  This specifies how long past the mode timeout, the mode will remain active. This feature will only apply if the mode becomes active using the “MODE CONTROL INPUT” feature.
  
  EXAMPLE: During a water change, you may need the WaveEngine to delay the start of the flow pumps by a couple of minutes to ensure the pumps do not run dry if the water level inside the aquarium is too low still.
• LED COLOR – Set the color of the LED lights when the mode is active.

Step 3: Add/Remove Outputs and Schedules

This is the same as going to the output/schedule settings page and selecting the modes in the “Active In” field.    You can quickly and efficiently add and remove outputs and schedules from the mode.  

Step 3: Save your settings

• Tap on the yellow bar at the bottom of the screen to upload your changes.
