Adding a Rope Leak Detector Sensor is very simple.
Step 1: Physically Connect the Sensor
- Connect the sensor to your Control unit’s Sense Port (GREEN).
- Please safely secure the sensor in your aquarium, making sure that the sensor cannot become dislodged.
Step 2: Create the INPUT Sensor
- From the STATUS screen, tap the three horizontal dots to the right of the INPUTS label.
- Select “Add / Edit Input”
- Tap on the + symbol in the bottom-right corner
- Enter the name you wish to assign to your input and tap “Create.”
Step 3: Configure INPUT Sensor
- Type: Select Sense Port
- Sense Port: Select the port number where you physically connected the input sensor
- Sense Mode: Select Rope Leak Detector
- Trigger Threshold (Sensitivity): With this feature, you can adjust the rope’s sensitivity. Increasing the sensitivity (lowering the number) means that the rope requires less water contact to trigger a leak status.
WARNING: If the sensitivity is set too high, a false alarm could be triggered by accumulated moisture. Testing different levels may be necessary based on the humidity levels surrounding the rope. - Notification Level: This option lets you specify the notification level you want to receive.
- Alert When Dry: This feature reverses the leak detector’s notification setting so that you receive an alert when the rope changes from wet to dry.
- Is Invisible: If you choose to hide the input from the status screen, it will only become visible on pages that have “Show Invisible” selected.
Step 4: Upload Changes
Once you have configured your INPUT, tap on the yellow bar at the bottom of the screen to upload your changes to the cloud and the individual HYDROS devices.
Rename Input & Change Icon
- From the STATUS screen, tap on the Input you wish to modify.
- On the popup, tap on the “Gear” icon on the bottom right.
- From the Input setup page, tap on the “Pencil” icon on the top left.
- Type in the new name you wish
- If you wish to change the default icon, please tap on “Change Icon.”
